So close and yet so far away. We are talking about the capital of our northern neighbors, Vilnius. A direction that I very often postponed to another date and I think it would still be so if it wasn’t for the pandemic we all experienced. I went to Lithuania in September 2021 only because my final destination was closed to tourists again. Very quickly I corrected my plans, I found very cheap air tickets, a hotel at a very good price and I was ready to travel. This is how I am in Vilnius, which I certainly do not regret.
Vilnius is beautiful, and the old town in particular captivates with its amazing architecture and history. I spent three days in Lithuania; I believe that this is enough time to get to know the capital of this country and the outskirts of the city well.
Vilnius is very close to Poland (exactly 162 km from the border) and only 3 hours flight from UK. It’s a great alternative to spend a weekend in this place for anyone who doesn’t have plans for it.
